As a parent of four very different children I understand the importance of education engaging and supporting all children at the right time, to help them get the most out of adult life. My youngest daughter attended Severndale, so I am closely attuned to the needs of SEND children and their families and carers and am focused on helping them all have the best opportunities for a fulfilled life, post education. I have been a foster carer for many years and this has enabled me to see the world from a different perspective and advocate for the LAC. I have been a trustee and Governor at Severndale since 2017 and have learnt a huge amount about the complexity of school funding for SEND pupils and the importance of close working relationships with health and social services, local authority, parents and carers. I also sit on the board of a local Social Housing organisation and am passionate about the link between a safe secure home and community and successful learning and lifeskills.
I am Business Consultant with over 25 years’ experience leading major international brands. I specialise in the customer experience and communications and want to ensure we build strong relationships between home and school to support every young person. I understand the importance of good governance, integrity and transparency and bring a non-educational perspective to the role.
