Allscott Meads Primary and Nursery Celebrates First Year of Opening

Birthday celebrations portrait

We are absolutely delighted to be celebrating our first year of opening at Allscott Meads Primary School and cannot believe how quickly the time has flown in our beautiful new building!

The whole school settled very quickly, and we feel privileged to have been so warmly welcomed into the heart of Allscott Meads community. This year has been an extremely busy one, and the children have enjoyed a great many exciting opportunities to enhance their learning. Our rich and engaging curriculum ensures all our pupils benefit from the most relevant and purposeful opportunities, underpinned by our shared School Values of Kindness, Belonging, Respect, Success, Inspiration and Enjoyment. Visitors and tangible experiences have richly enhanced our offer including a Roman Day, the Animal Man and a fabulous Space Dome as well as ‘Bumbles of Honeywood’ and ‘Veolia’ who have supported sustainability and recycling.

Over the course of this year our pupils have taken part in a great many sporting activities, making full use of our fantastic facilities including a Santa chase on the running track and a range of sports events in our purpose-built MUGA. Recently Sports Day was a great success, and it was truly heartwarming to see our mixed age teams supported one another brilliantly. Our five a side team and our netballers have done a fabulous job of representing the school at Trust tournaments and we couldn’t be prouder!

It has also been wonderful to see the Early Years environment evolve and develop over the course of the year and parents and carers have been so generous in their contributions to raise funds for additional equipment including a beautiful mud kitchen. The kindness and support of the whole community has enhanced our offer greatly and we are so pleased that we have established such positive relationships. S.J. Roberts Developers have recently planted a forest school of the future in our grounds alongside some large planters that provided our first crops of strawberries.

We close the year with our first Allscott Birthday celebrations which has been great fun to share. Parents/ Carers were treated to a ‘Concert under the Canopy,’ a fun assembly featuring the children’s work and a special, celebratory Birthday cake was shared! It really has been an extremely memorable year for all the whole school community, and we look forward to providing many more to come!
