Yesterday, our very own Admin Assistant, Adele, had the opportunity to visit Severn Hospice at their Apley Castle Hospice, following a recent fundraising activity at the Learning Community Trust.
In December, staff took part in Christmas Jumper Day, raising £100 in support of Severn Hospice. As a result of this fundraising, Del was kindly invited to visit Apley Castle Hospice, where she was given a guided tour and the chance to see first-hand the wide range of facilities on offer.

During the visit, she learnt that Severn Hospice supports not only patients and families receiving end-of-life care, but also members of the wider community through services such as drop-in sessions, coffee mornings, and creative therapy groups. These services provide vital emotional and social support for people who may be facing difficult circumstances.
The visit was both informative and inspiring, highlighting just how much commitment and volunteering is required to keep the hospice running. The dedication of staff and volunteers plays a crucial role in enabling Severn Hospice to continue supporting so many people within the community.
Severn Hospice will also be holding their ‘Shimmer Walk’ fundraising event on 25th April. The 5k walk will start at Charlton School, one of our secondary schools, and continue through Apley Woods, featuring lights and fun zones along the route.
