After completing my degree in Engineering, and a PGCE in secondary mathematics, I worked in finance and IT. I have worked in education for over 30 years the majority of this time spent in strategic leadership roles. I am a serving Ofsted inspector for the East Midlands region and have been a Principal of three separate 11-19 Academies, each with their own different challenges and contexts. During this time, I have led on all areas of school life including quality of education, behaviour and attitudes, personal development, and safeguarding.
As the Director of secondary education, I have the privilege of working alongside our headteachers and their leadership teams to improve the experience and outcomes for our children by providing support and challenge. I believe in the power of education to transform lives by widening horizons and providing the skills and knowledge to allow young people to confidently reach their next steps in life.
