About

My journey into education wasn’t a straight path and took time and dedication at a mid-point in my life. Following the completion of my degree in Literature, I completed a PGCE in post compulsory education; having developed a passion for further and higher education from my own experiences of this sector. My teacher training took place at a local college, and this is where my 11-year career in education developed, from English teacher to senior leader. Throughout my career, I worked closely with young people, particularly those from disadvantaged and challenging environments, witnessing first-hand the transformative power of education on individuals and communities at large. My efforts extended to significant community involvement, where I offered educational programs and development initiatives to local residents, addressing skill shortages and supporting the economic development of the area.

In 2023, I joined the Learning Community Trust as the Project and Communications Lead, after previously collaborating with them in my earlier position. My role involves supporting the executive team and assisting academies as they integrate into our Trust. I also focus on developing and enhancing communications across the Trust, ranging from direct support at the academy level to strategic development and crafting communication strategies. I am delighted to continue my commitment to working alongside our community, academies, and leaders to drive continuous improvement, uphold our core values, and achieve our strategic goals. Our collective aim is to ensure that every child receives a high-quality education, regardless of their background or circumstances.
