I have worked within a range of roles and organisations across the public sector where I have advised senior leaders; developed organisational systems, policies and procedures; led strategic planning; and supported boards and committees. In 2017, I started a governance role within a further education college and shortly afterwards expanded my portfolio to include multi-academy trusts and schools after wanting to know more about governance in the wider education sector. During this time, I became qualified in corporate, charity school governance through the Chartered Governance Institute. I joined the Learning Community Trust in September 2022 as their Governance Professional.
As Governance Professional and Company Secretary, I am responsible for leading governance across the Learning Community Trust, supporting both trustees and governors in our academies to fulfil their roles and ensuring the Learning Community Trust is compliant in its legal and regulatory responsibilities. In practice, this means I work across the trust to create a culture of professionalism, excellence and continuous improvement and the highest standards of awareness and compliance in MAT governance and corporate support.
