Queensway School is seeking a calm, resilient and dependable Enhanced student support lead to help pupils feel safe, regulate successfully and re-engage positively with learning.
A highly responsive role coordinating safe, purposeful support and successful reintegration for pupils
Queensway is a specialist school in Telford supporting children and young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs and Communication and Interaction needs, including autism. We are a Trauma Informed Gold school with Advanced Autism Accreditation, where relationships, empathy and high expectations come together to help every pupil thrive.
As Enhanced Student Support Lead, you will coordinate high-quality pastoral and academic support for pupils educated away from the school site through external placements or modified timetables, and for pupils returning following suspension. You will ensure each arrangement is safe, purposeful, regularly reviewed and focused on increasing engagement and securing a planned return to school.
Acting as the principal operational link between pupils, families, school colleagues, placement providers and relevant professionals, you will monitor attendance, welfare, safety, engagement and academic continuity. You will coordinate learning materials and information, contribute to reviews, maintain accurate case records, and undertake planned visits to external provision and, where appropriate and risk assessed, pupils’ homes.
We are looking for a calm, resilient and highly organised professional with experience of supporting children or young people, including those with complex or additional needs. You will build trusted relationships while maintaining clear expectations and professional boundaries, coordinate confidently across families, staff and external professionals, respond appropriately to changing circumstances and risk, and ensure actions are recorded accurately and followed through. Experience of alternative provision, modified timetables, reintegration, home visiting or multi-agency work would be an advantage.
What we can offer you
This is an exciting time to join Queensway. The school is entering a period of development, including new purpose-built SEMH facilities that will create further opportunities for pupils and staff. As part of the Learning Community Trust, you will join a collaborative family of primary, secondary and specialist academies united by a commitment to inclusion, professional growth and ensuring that no child is left behind.
You will benefit from a comprehensive induction, ongoing professional development and opportunities to progress across a growing Trust. We also offer generous Local Government Pension Scheme provision, wellbeing and counselling support, family-friendly policies, salary sacrifice schemes, free parking where available, and the opportunity to collaborate with experienced colleagues across specialist education.
To apply, please complete the Learning Community Trust application form, highlighting your relevant experience, skills and personal qualities. CVs will not be accepted. Completed applications should be emailed to kerriann.hughes@lct.education by the closing date.
We reserve the right to close this vacancy early and make an appointment before the advertised closing date if a strong candidate is identified. Early applications are therefore encouraged.
