Students from a Telford school’s theatre company have taken centre stage to deliver an important anti-knife crime message.

Hadley Learning Community’s ImpACT Theatre Company delivered an emotionally-charged performance of their original production, No Knives Save Lives.

The special fundraising event was held in support of The Ben Kinsella Trust – a leading national charity dedicated to tackling knife crime and educating young people on the consequences of violence.

Local councillors and representatives from Telford & Wrekin Police joined families, staff and members of the community to witness the students’ powerful portrayal of the devastating impact knife crime has on individuals, families and the wider society.

Telford & Wrekin councillor Eileen Callear said: “This was a powerful and emotional performance which was hard hitting but so important. It was an amazing performance by all the young people of HLC and by the staff who put this together.

“Well done for highlighting such an important issue for everyone, but especially for young people.”

Senior PCSO Katy Balaam and PCSO Louise Price from the Hadley and Leegomery Safer Neighbourhood Team also attended the event and highlighted the significance of the students’ work.

“The students delivered a powerful production focusing on the impact and far‑reaching consequences of knife crime on victims, families and communities.

“Held in support of The Ben Kinsella Trust, the event will help the charity to continue its work educating young people and campaigning against knife crime. The event encouraged important conversations around prevention, safety and making positive choices.”

Emma Philpin, drama teacher at Hadley Learning Community secondary school, said: “HLC is immensely proud of the ImpACT Theatre Company for their dedication, creativity and courage in addressing such a vital issue.

“Their work not only raised funds for a crucial charity but also inspired meaningful dialogue around safety, choices and the power of young voices in shaping a safer future.”
