Severndale Academy is celebrating a significant milestone this year. Established in 1995, Severndale has been a supportive environment for students with special educational needs for three decades. This year marks the 30th anniversary of the academy and the 10th anniversary of its Futures campus, located at Shrewsbury College.
In honor of this special anniversary, Severndale Academy is hosting an exhibition titled “Facescapes,” showcasing the artistic talents of its students. The exhibition will be held at the Shrewsbury Museum and Art Gallery from April 12th to May 11th.
“Facescapes” is a celebration of the many faces that have passed through Severndale’s doors over the years. The academy has always been a place where students are encouraged to embrace their individuality and express themselves freely. This ethos is beautifully reflected in the portraits and sculptures created by the students for the exhibition.
The artworks on display are a testament to the creativity and self-expression that Severndale fosters. Each piece tells a unique story, capturing the essence of the students’ personalities and their journey at the academy. The exhibition not only highlights the artistic skills of the students but also serves as a reminder of the importance of inclusivity and acceptance in education.
Visitors to the exhibition will have the opportunity to see a diverse range of artworks, from vibrant paintings to intricate sculptures. The students have used various mediums and techniques to create their pieces, showcasing their versatility and creativity.
